New Year’s Eve is Thursday, Dec. 31, 2026. Coral Gables has no city-run New Year’s Eve event or public fireworks show. The best-known celebration in town is the Biltmore Hotel’s ticketed party, which ends with fireworks over its golf course at midnight.

Restaurants and bars

Fireworks at home

Florida law, section 791.08, lets people use consumer fireworks only on three designated holidays: New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day and Independence Day. Call 911 for a fire or an injury. For noise or other complaints, call the Coral Gables Police Department’s non-emergency line, 305-442-1600.

Getting home

  • City offices: the City of Coral Gables lists New Year’s Day as a city holiday on its holiday calendar; the 2027 calendar was not yet posted.
  • Schools: Miami-Dade County Public Schools’ winter recess runs Dec. 21, 2026, to Jan. 1, 2027, according to the district calendar (PDF).
