The city’s holiday calendar listed Labor Day 2026 on Monday, Sept. 7; the 2027 calendar was not yet posted. The school district’s 2026-27 calendar lists Sept. 7, 2026, as a holiday for students and employees, and its 2027-28 calendar will set the next one. Police and fire service continue as normal: 911 in an emergency, 305-442-1600 for the police non-emergency line.

Trash and recycling

Things to do over the long weekend

Venetian Pool, 2701 De Soto Blvd. The spring-fed pool keeps its usual hours on Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and opens specially for Labor Day Monday from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Children must be at least 3 years old and 38 inches tall. Coral Gables residents pay lower rates with proof of residency (city page; 305-460-5306).

Matheson Hammock Park, 9610 Old Cutler Road. The county park on Biscayne Bay has a beach, an atoll pool flushed by the tide, a marina and trails, open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily with a parking fee per car (city listing). The Matheson Hammock Market sets up on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
