For one weekend each summer, Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden on Old Cutler Road puts its mango collection on show. The Fairchild Mango Festival, first held in 1992, lays out more than 400 mango varieties in the Garden House, with talks from Fairchild’s scientists and “Mango Masters,” a market of mango fruit and trees, food, music and activities for children. Fairchild says it is one of the longest-running mango festivals in the country, and that more than 20,000 trees have been sold there over 30 years.
