Miami-Dade County Public Schools’ spring break runs Monday, March 22, to Friday, March 26, 2027. Coral Gables’ public schools are run by the county district, so that is the week most families plan around. Private schools and the University of Miami set their own dates; check with the school.

What this means for you

  • Public school students are off March 22-26, 2027; March 29 is a teacher planning day that schools can choose to use.
  • The city’s holiday camp for grades K-5 runs at the War Memorial Youth Center on school days off; register early.
  • City offices stay open: spring break is not a city holiday.

School dates

Dates
Spring recess, Miami-Dade County Public Schools Monday, March 22, to Friday, March 26, 2027
Teacher planning day (available to opt) Monday, March 29, 2027

Dates are from the district’s 2026-27 calendar (PDF). A “teacher planning day available to opt” means a school may hold classes that day instead of another day; check with your school.

Camps

Club PLAY All Day. The City of Coral Gables runs holiday camps for grades K-5 on days when school is off, at the War Memorial Youth Center, 405 University Drive. Days run 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., with active games, arts and crafts and board games. Late pickup after 6 p.m. carries a fee. Register through playgables.com or in person at the youth center, open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. weekdays and 8 a.m. to noon Saturdays.

The city also points families to its Club Kids day camps at the Coral Gables Golf and Country Club on the same page. Families of children with disabilities or other needs can ask the city’s PLAY for All team for a written accommodation plan: PlayForAll@coralgables.com.

The city posts each camp’s dates on its registration site; spring 2027 sessions were not listed when we checked.
